SAFER are land development and rural settlement societies that can be incorporated to carry out a public service mission in a transparent and fair manner.
They work primarily to protect agricultural, natural and forest areas. Their interventions aim to promote the establishment, maintenance and consolidation of agricultural or forestry operations so that they reach a viable economic dimension under the criteria of the regional as well as improving the parcel distribution of farms. These interventions contribute to the diversity of production systems, including those that combine economic, social and environmental performance with those under organic farming within the meaning of Article L. 641-13.
